dc.description	Scope and Content: The ledgers of patient records contain entries of medical bills and receipts for patients within the community. Each entry is headed by the patient’s name and a list of medications prescribed to them on different dates. The dates span a number of years, from as early as 1890 to as late as 1915. The first ledger is missing its front cover and is numbered pages 1-224. The second ledger is in better condition with both covers intact and a loose spine, and is numbered pages 1-299. The third ledger is in the best condition; missing the first 4 pages it is numbered pages 5-276, with entries extending to page 219. Entries that are paid have “Pd.” and a check mark written over top. Fragments found inside ledgers include lists of groceries swapping for medical services, a receipt exchanging music lessons for medical services, and notes about payment/prescriptions. The prescription notebooks contain records of patient prescriptions. Each entry is headed by the patient’s name with the date, followed by a list of symptoms, prescribed amounts of different medicines, and the rate each should be taken a day. The first notebook is dated 1909, but the second contains dates from 1911-1912. Each entry is accompanied by a record number with 1-4 entries per page. The first notebook begins with record #13339 and ends with #13463, spanning from 5/4/1909 to 10/5/1909.
