Enoch Emerson Medical Records Collection

Dr. Enoch Emerson was born in Mersey Township, Essex County of Ontario in 1858. Though originally planning to be a teacher, he studied and graduated from Detroit College of Medicine in 1886 and moved to Spring Arbor, Michigan, where he practiced medicine until his death in 1915. In addition to his medical practice, Enoch also owned rental properties and three farms raising cattle. Enoch married Alta McConnell of Coldwater in 1891. Together they had four children, including Zella Emerson Gilmore (for more information on Zella, visit this collection: https://whitelibrary.dspacedirect.org/handle/11210/32). He became a member of the Jackson County Medical Society and the Michigan State Medical Society in 1905, participating until his death.
